One of our most fun activities in November was on Tuesday, Ursula from Park View Care Center came over to show us how to paint on rocks; affectionately known as rock art. The residents used their hands to be creative with the pieces that they created. It was great fun and very relaxing! Thank you, Ursula, for sharing your talents with us here at Park Terrace.
Friday, November 11, 2016 we celebrated Veteran’s Day. We thank our military residents for their service to us that they so boldly and graciously gave. We had the Navy, Air Force, Marine Corp., Army and Merchant Marines represented. Michelle Olson from Elim Guardian Angels pinned each of the residents that served with an angel holding the flag of the USA. Treats were served and Pat and Nancy Driggans and Jean Thibideau provided wonderful entertainment for the residents. We feel privileged to honor our residents that served in the military.
Tuesday, November 22, the residents, along with volunteers Stephanie and Sara, used some old tea cups to create their own floral arrangements. We have such creative volunteers that gave ideas for the residents on how to go about making the arrangements. They turned out so beautiful!!! They could even be given as gifts!
Wednesday, November 23rd we held a Thanksgiving Tea for the residents. Mary Miller entertained the residents with guitar, piano and her angel-sounding voice. The residents joined Mary in some of the songs they remembered. Lemon dessert was served. We are so thankful for all that God has given us!!
We look forward to our resident/family Christmas open house on Thursday, December 8th. The Slew Foot Family will entertain us along with a light supper and of course Christmas goodies. Merry Christmas everyone!!
